The Vice Chancellor has taken the initiative, in response to repeated expressions of concern by the UWI’s stakeholders (notably, the students) about the creeping nationalistic sentiment threatening to undermine the regional nature of the University, to convene two special Task Forces – one, chaired by Deputy Principal, Professor Rhoda Reddock, to examine and make recommendations for an improved integration of the Open Campus countries with the regional university and the other, chaired by Professor Brian Meeks, to recommend ways of preserving and enhancing the regional character of the University of the West Indies. The entire University community is urged to participate in these deliberations by submitting comments and suggestions to the Task Force Chairs.
