Award - Mrs. Eda Martin

Mrs. Eda Bethune Martin, Manager, Customer Services in the Office of Finance joined the University of the West Indies (UWI) in 1993 as Executive Secretary to the then Director of Finance/University Bursar, Mr. Winston Bayley.

Eda B as she fondly calls herself, moved up the ranks as the years went by.  She not only became Office Manager, Assistant Manager, Customer Services before being appointed Manager, Customer Services, but also mastered in her academia qualifications by obtaining her Second Degree Honour in BSc. Public Administration and then her Masters in HRD

Mrs. Eda Martin was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence (Service to the University Community) on October 5, 2011.  She is the second Administrative personnel to receive such an award within the UWI.    This annual award ceremony is a celebration of the UWI’s core values, and the recipients of these awards are persons who have proven themselves the perfect examples of a commitment to the pursuit of excellence.
