Mrs. Thelma White has joined the staff of SALISES in August 2010 as Librarian after working at the UWI Main Library as Librarian/Indexer since 2006. She is presently managing the project of converting the resources of the Documentation Centre into the Aleph cataloguing system which is linked to that of the UWI Main Library.
She is experienced in project management as she was instrumental in establishing the libraries of the Jamaica Exporters Association, the Victoria Mutual Building Society, the Jamaica Private Power Company and initiated the establishment of the Jamaica Employers Federation Library to name a few. She also co-authored several articles that were published in Journal of Library and Information Services in Distance Learning and Journal of Education and Development in the Caribbean.
She believes in involvement in the UWI students' life as she acts as a mentor for students as well as participates annually in the First Year Experience Programme as a Facilitator.
