UWI aligns with JCA

KINGSTON – December 4, 2019 - The University of the West Indies (UWI) through the Mona Academy of Sport, Faculty of Sport achieved a significant milestone in strategic partnership with the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing and promoting the sport of cricket in Jamaica.

In affirming The UWI’s commitment to the partnership, Principal of the Mona Campus, Professor Dale Webber welcomed the opportunity presented by the MOU for the development of cricket infrastructure on the campus, the greater access it will provide to current and future players as well as the opportunity for human resource development.

JCA President Wilford ‘Billy’ Heaven viewed the partnership as a sustainable form of development acknowledging that “it comes with benefits and responsibilities for both parties.”
