Open Campus Giving kicked off with USD $5000
The UWI Global Giving Week Initiative started August 1- 7, 2016, under the theme “Emancipate. Educate. Donate.” The UWI Global Giving Campaign is a key fundraising initiative to which all alumni, friends and supporters are urged to give back and donate to the University.
This year the UWI Open Campus is hosting an initial “Build-Back-Better-a-thon”, on Thursday, August 15, 2019. It is hoped that the funds raised at this tele-thon will help us build back the Sites who were affected by the devastation of hurricanes in 2017 as well as assist our students who are also experiencing hardships as a result of their losses.
Past President of UWIAA Ottawa, Canada and Pelican Awardee, Dr. C. Lloyd Stanford has offered to kick-off this initiative by making a pledge of USD $5000 as he encourages ALL ALUMNI to donate. Dr. Lloyd Stanford is a member of the Chancellor's Presidents Club and has given generously in the past.
In the words of the Campus Alumni Officer, Mrs. Sandra Griffith-Carrington “To all alumni - Your contribution is just a phone call away! No contribution is too small! Help us Build Back Better”.
Please join us online at https://uwi.zoom.us/j/950632756 as we host our "Kick-Off" on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. EC time. Mr. C. Lloyd Stanford from Ottawa, Canada will lead the kick-off.
A second campaign event will be hosted on Friday, November 28, 2019.
