UWI STAT members part of successful team at the Americas Rounds of the Price Media Moot Court Competition

Team 403 from the Faculty of Law, UWI Mona Campus went to New York from January 21-24,2014 and they did us proud!

The three member team comprising of UWISTAT Ambassadors Ms. Lanasia Nicholas (VP of Finance), Ms. Rowana-Kay Campbell (VP of Membership) and Mr. Litrow Hickson along with their coach Ms. Gabrielle Elliot-Williams, traveled to the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law to compete in the Americas Rounds of the Price Media Moot Court Competition. The competition explores the issues of comparative media law and policy as well as freedom of expression rights and privacy rights.

The team advanced to the semi-final rounds of the competition placing third overall which secured them a place in the International Rounds which will be held at Oxford University in England in April 2014.

We will keep posted as to how they do.
