The seminar will be led by Dr. Derrick McKoy, Dean and Mrs. Suzanne Ffolkes-Goldson, Deputy Dean and will form part of the Campus Research Day Activities.
 
Dr. McKoy will present on “Blowing in the wind: Whistleblower legislation and the anticorruption project in the Commonwealth Caribbean.”  This paper will discuss the introduction of whistleblower legislation in Jamaica in light of the international trend towards greater transparency in public management as part of the general anticorruption project. The paper will comment on the trend towards transparency in public management in the Commonwealth Caribbean and focus on the Jamaica Protected Disclosures Act.
 
Mrs. Ffolkes-Goldson will present “The Use and Misuse of the Corporate Oppression Remedy in the Commonwealth Caribbean”.  The presentation will include an analysis of the development of the corporate oppression remedy as a tool for corporate governance and the creative use of the remedy in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
