The University Press of Kentucky releases book by UWI Alumnus

The University Press of Kentucky has recently released a new book by UWI alumnus Neil Roberts (A Political Companion to Frederick Douglass. Neil Roberts was a visiting graduate student in the Summer of 1999 in the Political Science Dept. While there he served as personal assistant to Trevor Munroe (on faculty and a Senator in the Jamaican Parliament).

Neil Roberts is associate professor of Africana studies, political theory, and the philosophy of religion at Williams College. He is the author of articles in periodicals such as Caribbean Studies, Daily Nous, New Political Science, Perspectives on Politics, Philosophia Africana, Political Theory, Small Axe, and Society for U.S. Intellectual History, and he is coeditor of the collections Creolizing Rousseau and Journeys in Caribbean Thought. He has also served as editor and coeditor for special issues of Theory & Event and the C. L. R. James Journal. His book Freedom as Marronage is the recipient of awards from the American Political Science Association Foundations of Political Theory section and Choice magazine, and the Association for College and Research Libraries selected it as a top-twenty-five book for 2015. Roberts is president of the Caribbean Philosophical Association.
