Dr. Aldyth Buckland, Co-Chair of the Planetary Health Working Group at the Caribbean College of Family Physicians, has been a leading advocate for tobacco control and planetary health. Her extensive work in family practice, combined with her certifications in various holistic therapies, demonstrates her holistic approach to patient care. Dr. Buckland's leadership in medical organizations and her advocacy efforts have led to significant health policy changes in Jamaica. Notably, Dr. Rishi Jagdeo, Dr. Maurice Fisher, and Dr. T'shaka Patterson, graduates of the MSc Sports Medicine programme, launched SportsMed Caribbean Ltd., providing vital sports medicine and rehabilitation services across the Caribbean (The University of the West Indies). Additionally, at the 27th Annual Awards Gala hosted by the American Foundation for The University of the West Indies, several distinguished alumni were honored for their remarkable contributions, underscoring the global influence and leadership of our graduates (The University of the West Indies). On Global UWI Alumni Day 2024, we celebrated the profound impact our alumni have had worldwide. This day is a testament to the community's strength and the positive changes driven by UWI graduates (UWI Global Alumni).
