My fellow UWI Pelicans, I hope that you saw the message that I sent telling you that I am back from my Sabbatical Leave. A lot has happened since I was last in touch due to Covid 19 - and many of you, like me - are navigating a “new normal” in both our professional and home spaces. As this new academic year begins with face-to face and hybrid formats being available for the first time in various ways across the 5 campuses of the UWI, do please remember that we offer many ways for you as graduates to assist in the holistic development of current UWI students. Here are just some examples: - The Soft and Life Skills Series; Alumni Engagement Programme or E-Mentorship where you can share your knowledge and/or experiences with students and young graduates
- The Pelican Perks Advantage Programme which encourages graduates to support UWI graduate owned businesses
- By contributing stories of your achievements and innovations via the UWI Nexus and UWI Connect publications; or the Global UWI Alumni Hub!
UWI Medical Professionals – the Medical Alumni Association (UWIMAA) is being revitalized. Are you receiving the updates? If not that means we don’t have your contact information – please just click the link below and sign up on Alumni Online (AO). You’ll receive all news, updates, birthday greetings and more! For more information contact Rozan Levy (IAD/UWIMAA Associate) at rozan.levy@alumni.uwi.edu Remember to put June 26, 2023 in your diaries from NOW- that is the date that the Global UWI Alumni Day will occur in 2023: The UWI’s 75th Anniversary Year. We will be celebrating YOU – our graduates, so plan on being a part of that event! I look forward to hearing from you about your ideas and accomplishments so that I can share them with other alumni via this medium. Continue to be well and stay safe! Warmest wishes, Celia Celia Davidson Francis Director of Alumni Relations - UWI Founder & Coordinator - Regional Vice Chancellor's UWI STAT Ambassadorial Corps
