Over 500 student athletes from across The UWI have gathered at Mona Campus in Jamaica for the 2019 UWI Games. The 10 day biennial tradition of inter-campus competitive sports, camaraderie and fun kicked off on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  
   
During the lively opening ceremony, the winners of the 2019 Vice-Chancellor’s Sports Awards were also announced. Club netball captain, Vanessa Bobb of the Cave Hill Campus received the Sportswoman of the Year award, while Jordan Reynos, a national hockey player from the St. Augustine Campus was named Sportsman of the Year.
