The following statement is issued by the Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles announcing the establishment of the Five Islands Campus of The University of the West Indies in Antigua and Barbuda.

I am honoured to report that the Chancellor, Mr. Robert Bermudez, and the Council of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) have formally approved the establishment of a campus of The University of the West Indies in Antigua and Barbuda, within the wider context of the country’s membership of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
