Open Campus Presidents’ Retreat

The Open Campus Presidents held a successful Alumni Retreat, organized and funded by them, which highlighted the importance of alumni engagement in the life of each UWI campus and OC site and emphasised the various ways that alumni globally can be involved through the UWI Triple A 2017- 22 Strategic. It was extremely productive and underscored the effectiveness of face to face meetings, especially in the areas of camaraderie building, brainstorming, foresighting and sharing of ideas and best practices.

The Director of Alumni Relations for the UWI, Celia Davidson Francis, in her session entitled " Against Alumni Apathy ... optimizing the positives" highlighted ways to promote integrated engagement withe the Open Campus sites and emphasized ways that graduates can be involved under each of the three Triple A headings  of Access, Alignment and Agility.

The Open Campus Principal also attended and highlighted her support of active alumni engagement with the Open Campus sites and indicated that the Heads would be encouraging their staff to involve alumni more so that can assist each site with their events and activities and promote and recruit.

Special thanks to Grenadian alumni Judy McCutcheon, the driving force behind alumni there, Maria La Touche who provided the fabulous villa where the Retreat was held and Richard Duncan who ensured we dined on sumptuous fare. Thanks too to St. Lucia's President, Lydia Dariah who assisted and also designed the programme for the Retreat.
