"Mental Health in Jamaica - The Way Forward" is the theme of this year's Jamaica Psychiatric Association's Annual Conference organized by the Department of Community Health and Psychiatry (Section of Psychiatry), UWI, Mona.  The Conference takes place on Sunday, August 14, 2011 starting at 8:30 am at the Mona Visitors' Lodge and Conference Centre, UWI, Mona. The main lecture which is entitled, "Personality Disorder and Conflict in Jamaica" is being delivered by Professor Emeritus Frederick Hickling, UWI, Mona.
Topics for discussion on this occasion include:

• The Mental Hospital Role and function (Dr. Y. Bailey-Davidson)
• Mental Health at the Kingston Public Hospital (Dr. C. Thesiger)
• Integration of Mental Health and Primary Health Care (Dr. W. Abel)
• Non-Anxious and Anxious Depression: Update on the Proposed DSM V Organisational Structure (Dr. C. Sewell)
• Policies and Protocols for Community Mental Health Services (Dr. M. Irons-Morgan)

The Conference fees are as follows: Early Registration: J$2000; On-site Registration is J$2500 for general participants and J$1500 for students.
