The University of the West Indies, Mona will host the Unveiling of the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Courtyard in the Faculty of Humanities and Education, UWI, Mona. The Unveiling Ceremony takes place on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 6 pm.
The Statue is a donation to the University from the Government of India.

Professor Clement Sankat, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Campus Principal, chatted with the track and field athlete, assuring him of UWI’s support. The Principal then presented Gordon with tokens from the University, in hopes they would “enrich his journey.”
Jehue will compete for the gold medal in the Men’s 400m Olympic Hurdle. Round 1, takes place on 3rd August at 11:15am. The Semi-final follow on August 4th at 7pm with the Final on August 6th at 8.45pm.
