Smart Choices: MCTLI Boosts Access and Financial Health and Advances the Digital Agenda
The Multi-campus Teaching and Learning Initiative (MCTLI), a policy and strategy aimed at widening access to education, was implemented in the period under review. This initiative promotes shared teaching across campuses, which helps maximise limited resources and broadens the diversity of students’ learning experiences. The MCTLI also played a significant role in restoring the financial health of The UWI by reducing redundancy, saving resources, and minimising the number of small classes across the campuses. Additionally, implementing the MCTLI has greatly advanced the digital agenda, leading to increased efficiency. During the first semester, one course—Caribbean Sign Language—was offered under the MCTLI, followed by two courses in the second semester.
