- Conferment of the title Honorary Professor on Dr Peter Figueroa , Chief of the Epidemiology and AIDS Department in the Ministry of Health, Jamaica, on attachment to the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Mona. Dr Figueroa had previously been appointed Honorary Professor attached to the School of Graduate Studies. This new appointment would allow him to undertake academic duties in the Department of Medicine.
- Acceptance of the recommendation of an Advisory Committee that the post of Executive Officer of the UWI Consulting Company, to be located in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, be offered to Mrs Carleen Gardner , for three years initially, subject to annual evaluations; and that she be paid within a separate salary structure, with the agreed salary to be incentive-based and linked to performance.
- Acceptance of the resignations of Professor Chris Narayan , Professor of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, St Augustine; and Professor Adebayo Aina , holder of the CL Financial Duprey Chair in Petroleum Geophysics, Faculty of Engineering, St Augustine.
- Resignation of Professor Serwan M. J. Baban , Department of Surveying and Land Information, Faculty of Engineering at St Augustine, with effect from January 31, 2007.
- Resignation of Ms Deborah-Ann Lee , Resident Tutor and Head, School of Continuing Studies, the Cayman Islands, who had distinguished herself as the first Resident Tutor appointed to the Cayman Islands, was accepted with regret and took effect on May 28, 2007.
- Appointment of Dr Jose Ortega-Benito to the Chair in Public Health, School of Clinical Medicine & Research at Cave Hill, for five years.
- Appointment of Professor Haydar Acka to the Chair in Mathematics, Cave Hill, for five years.
- Temporary appointment of Professor Winston Anderson , Director, Caribbean Law Institute Centre at Cave Hill, from January 1 to July 31, 2007.
- Extension of the temporary appointment of Mr James Corbin , Director of Information and Communication Technology, Cave Hill, from November 1, 2006, for two years, and of Mrs Kathleen Sambo, Acting Estate Manager, Mona, from January 01 to March 31, 2007, pending completion of the recruitment and selection processes.
