Sustainable Urbanisation
Sustainable Urbanisation MSc students must take both of the courses.
Electives
Sustainable Urbanisation M.Sc. students must take Introduction to Urban Society and Space and any one of the other 3-credit courses listed below. Diploma students may take any two elective courses.
Introduction to Urban Society and Space (3 credits)*
Urban Governance and Participation (3 credits)*
Urban Architecture as Cultural Landscape (3 credits)*
Transportation and Urban Design (3 credits)*
Diploma students may take any two electives. Other approved courses might include courses on Waste Management; Environmental Hazards and Disasters; Environment and Health, which are offered in the Integrated Urban and Rural Environmental Management stream.
Research Project (10 credits)
* These elective courses may not be available every academic year.
Disaster Management
M.Sc. students must take the following two specialisation courses:
AND any two of the following electives:
Environmental Hazards and their Impacts (3 credits)*
Techniques and Tools in Disaster Management (3 credits)*
Disaster Information and Communication (3 credits)*
Community Disaster Management Planning (3 credits)*
Health and Medical Issues in Disaster Management (3 credits)*
Diploma students may take any two electives. Other approved courses for MSc. and other postgraduate students would include the course on Waste Management which is offered in the existing Integrated Urban and Rural Environmental Management stream.
