The Centre has been a catalyst for several regional initiatives. In collaboration with CARICOM and other governments and agencies, LACC has:

• Led the process for the formulation of a Philosphical Framework for an Enhanced Primary Spanish Curriculum for CARICOM countries and the design of an Enhanced Primary Curriculum. (CARICOM/OAS Project with Chilean participation)
• Negotiated Chilean funding for Regional Spanish Methodology Workshops for Secondary School CARICOM teachers for 10 successive years.
• Negotiated Chilean funding for Regional Primary Spanish Curriculum Developers and Implementers.
• Coordinated workshops in specialized areas: trade; agriculture; international relations; socio-economic and cultural issues; in collaboration with international cooperation agencies of regional governments.
