CARIBBEAN CHILDHOODS: From Research To Action:  Journal of the Children's Issues Coalition, University of the West Indies is an annual publication. The series seeeks to provide an avenue for the dissemination of research and experiences on children's health, development, behaviour and education, and to provide a forum for these issues.

 

                                       

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT IN THE CARIBBEAN: A Curriculum Resource Guide.   The document on this CD represents the collaborative effort of several Caribbean early childhood professionals and practitioners who combined their collective experience and expertise to develop a framework of early childhood learning goals and outcomes for Caribbean children from birth to seven years. The consensus was that the following six learning outcomes should be supported for the children of the region: - Wellness - Effective Communication - Valuing Culture - Intellectual Empowerment - Respect for self and others - Resilience A product of the Child Focus II Project of the Caribbean Child Development Centre with support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Office.
