The University of the West Indies (UWI) is proud to be a part of the world-wide interest in improving the status of children and their families. This website was established to make Caribbean-relevant information available and to develop communication with the countries that the UWI serves.
We are targeting: practitioners, parents, policy makers, researchers, the media or other persons and organisations interested in Caribbean early childhood, parenting and family development issues. This is YOUR site. Your involvement is critical so that the site truly serves YOU.
Who We Are: Mostly, we are practitioners drawn from the Early Childhood field in the Caribbean - educators from the pre-primary to the university level; parents, communications and policy practitioners, researchers, and advocates. We include our funders because through their support, they have demonstrated their own commitment to early childhood development in our region.
Our Objective: Is to increase the sharing of information, strategies, resources and overall communication on early childhood, parenting and the family within the Caribbean.
What you will find: Information on national Early Childhood Development (ECD) Associations and their Plans of Action, Parenting initiatives, Research, Publications and products available, LINK newsletters and more on early childhood development issues in the region.
And please, feel free to contact us with any information, ideas or comments that will help enhance this site so that you get the most out of it.
