Offers many advantages – easily accessible, lower costs, portability, and word search capabilities. This technology has the potential of being disruptive. Technology: Response Technology/Web-based Polling
The response technology/web-based polling application allows students or meeting participants to use response devices or mobile devices and computers to respond to interactive polling questions that are presented during a class or meeting presentation. Presenters may use multiple choice, alphanumeric, multiple response, short answer and essay questions. Pilot license available at Mona and additional 100 seats for 1 year from Educause promotion.
SMART Response system (40 clickers/transmitters), purchased by Educational Media Services (EMS) at CH and used in workshops for faculty, including the CUTL technology course. EMS currently researching options towards expansion, including discussions with the Bookshop. Mona - Responseware is being piloted within Humanities and Education, Chemistry and UWISON. Approximately 300 students are being impacted.
Cave Hill - Pilot usage of the SMART Response system in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Cave Hill has yielded positive results. Turning Technologies response system in limited use in Faculty of Science and Technology at Cave Hill. Faculty interest in this technology is high.

Turnitin is an anti-plagiarism application used in evaluating and improving student writing. This is a cloud-based service for originality checking, online grading and peer review saves instructors time and provides rich feedback to students. One of the most widely distributed educational applications in the world, Turnitin is used by more than 10,000 institutions in 126 countries to manage the submission, tracking and evaluation of student papers online.
