UWI Consulting responds to requests for services, develops proposals, negotiates the terms and conditions of contracts with clients. Once the firm is hired, we assign a qualified and experienced Project Manager to manage the relationship with the client. Most importantly, Uwi Consulting is responsible for the quality assurance process that allows the client to get value for money, through on-time, on-budget delivery of planned outputs. 

We understand that resource and capacity constraints often slow down the rate of progress. We therefore seek to add to the capacity of organizations by providing qualified human resources in a seamless approach to accelerate implementation. We do this cost effectively. We are results-oriented and we measure the impact of our services.  

UWI Consultants know the region; we find the opportunities and we stay the course until the job is done. Uwi Consulting manages the risks inherent in consulting assignments and project implementation not only by tracking outputs and costs carefully but also by utilizing sound contractual instruments that protect the University’s reputation and the interests of the client.

 

Areas of Expertise

Our company draws deeply on the intellectual capital of the University of the West Indies and provides advisory and capacity building services to help regional governments to accelerate the pace of social and economic development for the benefit of their citizens. The University of the West Indies has three campuses in Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and an Open Campus that serves the fourteen countries in the Caribbean Region. The University has about 1000 academic staff in several disciplines: Agriculture, Engineering, Law, Medical Sciences, Clinical Medicine and Research, Social Sciences, Management, Humanities, Education, Pure and Applied Sciences. 

Over the 60 years since the University was founded in 1948, its teaching and research outputs have significantly transformed the fabric of the Caribbean. Thousands of scientists, entrepreneurs, cultural icons, political leaders, teachers, medical personnel and so on have graduated from its schools and faculties. UWI graduates are influential in every walk of life throughout the region and in the Diaspora. UWI Consulting draws on the faculty and alumni of the University of the West Indies so as to extend the reach and deepen the contribution of the University to society.
