The Office of Administration is the hub of the University Centre (the Vice-Chancellery), providing registrarial, secretariat services and administrative support.
The Office came into being as a separate entity in 1989, following on the restructuring of the administration of the UWI which gave greater autonomy to the individual campuses.
The main functions of the Office of Administration are:
To provide a coordinating role between the three campuses and the Vice-Chancellery, especially in areas of policy-making and implementation
To ensure consistent systems and procedures for the admission, registration and examination of students
Coordinating and monitoring of the Human Resource Management function across the regional University
To provide secretariat services for all the University’s Committees and Boards
To administer the Archives and Records Management Programme
To ensure that information on policy changes, staff-related matters
To encourage, facilitate and coordinate the growth and expansion of international programmes and activities of the University of The West Indies.
To identify policy needs, articulate policies and procedures to encourage a unified approach to international programmes throughout The UWI.
