Advancing Community Resilience Planning in the Caribbean Region Project (ACC-ReP)
The project worked directly with three pilot communities, two in Barbados (Crab Hill and Pile Bay) and one in Dominica (Coulibistrie), to identify local climate risks and develop adaptation strategies through participatory workshops and baseline resilience assessments. The UWI led/assisted with the following:
- Organizing and convening collaborative community resilience and climate-adaptation planning sessions to develop actionable targets
- Preparing Community Resilience Baseline Assessment reports
- Adaptation and delivery of Grant Proposal Writing Workshop to Barbados Department of Emergency Management (DEM) District Emergency Organisations (DEOs)
- Development of Introduction to online GIS Course
- Supporting University of Hawaii with delivering PACE 668: Facilitating Community and Organizational Change and Northeastern University with the delivery of Participatory Modelling; both using blended approaches
- Development and piloting of the Community and Climate Resilience Alliance in Dominica
