Since the mid-1990s , Jamaica has experienced a number and variety of extreme weather events that have damaged the agricultural sector. Nutrition and food security are integral to sustainable development. Disaster risk reduction initiatives protect people and their livelihoods from shocks and strengthen their capacity to build resilience for the future.
