Strengthening Disaster Risk Understanding, Management and Governance in the Caribbean Region

Project Background: 

The Strengthening Disaster Risk Understanding, Management and Governance in the Caribbean Region Project (implemented by The UWI with support from UNDRR) facilitated capacity building and research activities aimed at enhancing understanding of multi-dimensional facets of disaster risk and conduct training to build capacities in disaster risk financing as well as investing in sustainable development, climate adaptation and disaster resilience.  The project activities complemented the disaster risk reduction strategies being undertaken by national disaster offices in the Caribbean and will contribute to the achievement of the global targets of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
