Support to the Implementation of the CDEMA Component of the Spotlight Initiative led by UNDP

Project Background: 

Through this project, support was provided to the CDEMA Coordinating Unit to build capacity within the CDEMA system for integrating Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Family Violence (FV) prevention considerations into disaster risk management, through the development and delivery of training initiatives.  Specific activities included:

  1. Developing and delivering a training programme on the Guidelines on VAWG/FV integration in DRR/DRM in the Caribbean
  2. Supporting the CDEMA RTC in the development of an online, self-study course on Gender and DRR in the Caribbean
  3. Developing communication materials to support the training programme and the online, self- study course on Gender and DRR in the Caribbean
