Open Society Foundations (OSF) as the largest rights and democracy philanthropy in the world, continues to prioritise its collaboration with The University of the West Indies as a critical actor in the Caribbean and globally. Based on previous support to The UWI´s pioneering work on early childhood education and drug policy, OSF has deepened the relationship in the context of its first integrated Caribbean Strategy since 2020, signing a Memorandum of Understanding and supporting a range of innovative climate and reparations related initiatives, as well as supporting The UWI activists to engage on critical issues such as the global minimum corporate tax. We look forward to seeing the ongoing development of The UWI´s leadership and service to the region on climate, education, finance, debt, democracy, gender and much more, all from a critical justice perspective.
