Reparation Conversation Series

The "Reparation Conversations" series is a dynamic public education column and dialogue series published bi-weekly in the Jamaica Sunday Gleaner, born from a collaborative partnership between the Centre  and The Gleaner Company. Designed to decolonise public knowledge and bridge academic research with grassroots activism, this series explores the historical legacies of transatlantic chattel enslavement, indigenous genocide, and deceptive Indian indentureship, while directly advocating for the CARICOM Ten-Point Action Plan for Reparatory Justice. Renowned scholars, regional leaders, and emerging activists regularly contribute to the column, tackling critical contemporary issues such as the return of stolen artifacts, psychological rehabilitation from colonial harm, the inclusion of Indo-Caribbean communities, and Jamaica's legislative push toward becoming a republic.
