On Tuesday 22 September, TAFISA will put a question to the Sport for All community that most organisations answer too quickly: do our safeguarding policies actually work?
 
Safeguarding on paper means policies, reporting mechanisms, codes of conduct and designated responsibilities. Safeguarding in practice means that people understand them, trust the reporting process, recognise unsafe behaviour, know how to respond, and see leaders act consistently. The distance between the two is where harm happens.

The panel will look at what every community Sport for All organisation can realistically do to build a safeguarding culture, and how leadership behaviour, power, trust and organisational culture determine whether safeguarding policies work at all, particularly in non-competitive, volunteer-led settings where resources are thin, and everyone knows everyone.
 
TAFISA wants this webinar to reflect the real situations Sport for All organisations face, not the textbook ones.
