Taking Caribbean Sport to a Higher Level
Congratulations Dr. Roopchand-Martin
Dr. Sharmella Roopchand‑Martin of the Mona Academy of Sport has been awarded two Principal’s Research Awards in recognition of her outstanding research achievements. She received the Principal’s Research Award for Best Research and Publication, shared with Mr. Barrington Gayle, for their study on concussion knowledge and practices among male professional and semi‑professional footballers in two Caribbean Football Union countries. Dr. Roopchand‑Martin also received the Principal’s Research Award for the Faculty Research Project Attracting the Most Research Funds, highlighting her success in securing funding to support impactful research. The Faculty congratulates her on these well‑deserved honours.
