UWI Global Giving - JMD$

August 1 is celebrated in many Caribbean territories as Emancipation Day, marking the freedom of enslaved Africans. While we honour and pay tribute to that past, the UWI recognises that education is one of the most critical means to freedom, particularly for the current generation of our youth.

UWI Global Giving is one way that every member of the UWI community, including you as an alum, can make an impact at the University and contribute to Caribbean development by ensuring the future of the region’s human resource capacity.

The 2021 campaign focuses sustaining the effort to provide scholarships and bursaries, to support students whose finances, and that of their parents, have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
