UWIAA Membership Signup and Renewal

The PELICAN PERKS ADVANTAGE PROGRAMME (PPAP) was ratified on April 26, 2019 at the University Council meeting. This means that as of Sept 1, 2019 there will be no annual fee - only one life fee of US$30 (or the equivalent) across the globe for all alumni who graduated/ended UWI before Sept 1, 2019.

STUDENTS: As of 2019-2020, students will pay US$10 per year (or equivalent) for a total of US$30 over 3 years and will access Pelican Perks benefits (discounts) via their student ID.

Upon graduation, they will be issued a Lifetime UWI Alumni Association (UWIAA) Card which will give them access to continued Pelican Perks, as well as free admission to annual alumni engagement events –for example, socials, networking, Reunions etc. (registration required), provided by the Alumni Relations arm of the IAD, through the CAO's - on the campuses.

ALL GRADUATES BEFORE SEPT 2019: - They will pay US$30 (or equivalent) and will receive a Lifetime UWI Alumni Association (UWIAA) Card which will give them access to continued Pelican Perks, as well as free admission to annual alumni engagement events provided by the Alumni Relations arm of the IAD, through the CAO's - on the campuses. The US$30 will go to the Chapters. This can be paid online via Alumni Online (AO) and the IAD will send the Chapters these funds or this can be paid to the CAO's or Chapters directly. The IAD will also provide Chapters with annual funds for activities which ENGAGE alumni and the Chapter will report on the the expenditure of these funds and the activities at the annual CEC.

Note - After Sept 1 2019 there will no longer be an annual fee - only a life fee of US$30. * Even if a graduate has paid the annual fee this year - he/she will benefit as the next time they pay just a little more - and will be given Life membership.

Chapters will still be encouraged to solicit donations and sponsorship for fundraising events to support the Global Giving Programme and all the Foundations/Scholarships etc that fall under that, - as well as any additional fundraising initiatives that the Development (fundraising) offices of the UWI establishes. These funds raised will also be reported at the annual CEC.

Kind regards,
Celia Davidson Francis
Director of Alumni Relations - UWI
