Roy resided in Chancellor Hall and Lynette in Mary Seacole Hall.

Their story started during Fresher’s Week and continued through their years on campus. They got married in the August after Roy completed his MBBS 1974.They went back to Mona in 1975 Roy doing the DM programme in Medicine and Lynette doing her Dip. Ed. Their first daughter, Lisa was born in December 1975 and attended to Mona Heights Prep school. Lisa subsequently did medicine at Mona and got married to her classmate Patrick Magnus- another UWI couple.

Dr. Jascinth Lindo Receives Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to Bahamas

UWI Mona Alumna Dr. Jascinth Lindo completed a Master's degree in Public Health (2003) and a PhD in 2012 and Masters in Nursing Education 2015 (all in the Faculty of Medical Sciences). She is a Registered Nurse.

UWI graduate Dr Maurice Hall named provost of Bennington College

Bennington College President Laura Walker has announced that Dr Maurice Hall has been appointed provost of the college. He will assume this position on July 28.  She noted that “Dr. Maurice Hall brings deep academic experience, a passion for Bennington College’s mission and pedagogy, and a strategic perspective to the Provost position.”

UWIAA Incoming Alumni and Council Representatives

Craig Tuckett will be the 2021- 23 Alumni Representative and will serve for two years. Dwayne Haynes will be the 2021-22 Council Representative and will serve for one year. Both appointments are effective August 1, 2021. They will serve on the University Finance and General Purposes Committee, University Appointments Committee and the University Council; will give input from the alumni perspective and will liaise with the Director of Alumni Relations, Institutional Advancement Division (IAD) to promote alumni engagement and philanthropy.

Report from the first ever Global UWI Alumni Day

The first ever Global UWI Alumni Day was held virtually on June 26, 2021 and was deemed a great success and extremely enjoyable by all those who attended. This special DAY has been introduced to celebrate, recognise and appreciate UWI graduates who through their professional accomplishments contribute to the Caribbean region and the world in many spheres and at many levels; and also play a major role in enhancing the University’s reputation.
