Michelle Doyle-Lowe was named Acting Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, effective June 2, 2017. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from The University of the West Indies and an M.Phil. in International Finance from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. She is a longstanding member of the Barbados Economic Society.

The UWIMAA Canada is pleased to honour Dr. Rosemary Moodie. who is a proud UWI alumna.
She did post-graduate training in Paediatric Medicine and Perinatal Medicine at SickKids in Toronto. She completed her MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto in 2001; and Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University in 2011.

St. Lucian, Ambassador Dr. June Soomer is the new Chairman of the Open Campus Council. A UWI alumna, she received her Ph.D. in History from the UWI in 1994. She was the first female to graduate with a doctorate in History from the UWI, Cave Hill. Her thesis entitled “An Assessment of the Factors Affecting the Structure and Functioning of The British West Indies Federal Civil Service, 1947-1962”, highlighted her passion for regional integration, one that she has maintained throughout her career. She currently serves as the Secretary General to the Association of Caribbean States.
