Here is a story that only a few people know:
…That iconic mural that fills one wall in the Dining Room of the Mary Seacole Hall at the UWI Mona; the one with dancers twirling across the lawns…is something in which I’m proud to have played a lasting role.

CHANCELLOR’S MEDAL

The Chancellor’s Medal is a rare accolade.
First struck in 1998, the 50th anniversary of the university opening its doors, the June 2017 award to Professor Elsa Leo-Rhynie is the sixth such award; and perhaps the last hurrah of outgoing Chancellor Sir George Alleyne.

PAN GOES TO COLLEGE: Update and Sound!

We’ve been working to get the timeline straight for the story of how both steel bands and carnival evolved at the Mona, Jamaica regional hub that was the University College of the West Indies, popularly known as ‘UC’, in the 1950s; and to capture some of the voices.  A cameo exhibition last year was a work-in-progress, and since then we’ve been able to bring more people into the conversation.
