A new study published in the scientific journal, Nature Climate Change, provides the first global analysis of actors engaged in climate adaptation and their roles. The study reveals a critical issue, that systematic networking of various actor groups has generally been insufficient.
The University of the West Indies, Mona, took centre stage in a critical conversation addressing the financing of tertiary education in Jamaica, as it hosted a forum intending to chart a new path forward. The event, held on October 11, 2023, titled: "Colloquium on Financing Tertiary Education," sought to identify feasible solutions to the persistent challenge of financing higher education in the country.
As The University of the West Indies (The UWI) marks 75 years since the official opening of its inaugural Campus in Mona, Jamaica, a jubilee milestone is also being celebrated at Cave Hill Campus—60 years of existence.
Over 1,200 Cave Hill graduands are expected to receive their diplomas during two ceremonies as the 2023 graduation season at The UWI continues on Saturday, October 21.
