The individuals to be conferred with Honorary Degrees at the UWI in 2015 comprise four at the Cave Hill Campus, seven at the Mona Campus, two at the Open Campus, and eight at the St. Augustine Campus.
The following awardees received honorary doctorates in recognition of their stellar contributions to Caribbean development:

Ambassador A. Missouri Sherman-Peter LLD
Danny Glover, an actor, producer, humanitarian, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador made a visit to Jamaica on October 5. He came to the UWI and interacted with students and alumni during a “Conversation” with the UWI Vice Chancellor, Sir Hilary Beckles. The interactive session was very animated.
He also laid a wreath at the UWI monument which memorializes the last known slaves on the Mona Plantation, which is located at the Queens Way entrance. This photo shows him seated (right) with the UWI Vice Chancellor, Sir Hilary Beckles, moments after laying the wreath.
UWI graduate, Dr Neil Parsan has been appointed to the position of Secretary for Integral Development at OAS. He was the former Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America and to the Organisation of American States (OAS).
The UWI Vice Chancellor, Sir Hilary Beckles presented Honorary Graduate Dr. the Hon. Usain Bolt OJ with the inaugural Alumni Exemplar Sports Award on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the UWI Regional Headquarters.This award recognizes Dr. Bolt’s outstanding sportsmanship and record breaking athletic performance. It highlights his positive role in global track and his continuing affiliation as an exceptional alumnus of the institution: the fastest Honorary Graduate and an inspiration and role model for Caribbean youth.
The Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) will be hosting their annual George Willie Lecture Series on November 5, 2015 starting at 6:00 p.m. under the theme: The importance of developing and sustaining an entrepreneurial culture.
