As we continue to celebrate and reminisce on the past ten years, we invite you to journey with us through ten years in five months. Over 50 photographs have been collated from the collections of images captured between the months of August and December (2012 – 2022).
In 2020, for the first time in their history, many educational institutions, including the UWI, were forced to take graduation ceremonies to online platforms or have students collect their certificates via a drive-through format. Had someone told us that such a momentous occasion as graduation could be resorted to a fast food pickup style, many of us would probably laugh but in reality, the pandemic has brought about a lot of unimaginable practices.
Really? For Real? A true? Did this really happen? Oh wow? Is this correct? These are the popular phrases that reverberate throughout the UWI Museum as visitors tour “Surviving COVID-19”. Exhibiting the impact of the pandemic on The UWI as well as the University’s response through photos and archival material has provided visitors with insight into previously unknown information.
