Post Graduate Training at HWFMU
Residents in the UWI DM program in Obstetrics and Gynaecology rotate to the HWFMU in the third year of post-graduate training, to get their exposure to minimal access surgery, IVF and family planning. Residents spend 1-3 months in the Unit.
There are day-case surgery lists Mondays to Fridays where gynaecological endoscopy is performed in the latest OR1 STORZ (Germany) purpose-built operating suites. Residents assist at major surgeries and perform minor procedures while supervised by consultant staff surgeons.
