Hurricane Ivan 2004

In the Caribbean Sea region, the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) estimates the damage at more than US$3 billion -- US$1.85 billion in the Cayman Islands, US$815 million in Grenada, US$360 million in Jamaica, US$40 million in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and US$2.6 million in St Lucia. Gusts of 76 (kt) were experienced in the country. Total rain was 6 inches.
The storm affected Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia and impacted Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, causing particular damage to homes. The Saint Lucia Red Cross reports that minor roof damage has been incurred; four shelters were opened, housing some elderly people and people living on the waterfront were also evacuated to shelters.
