1924 Hurricane

Eye passed directly over territory, hospital roof gone, mountains stripped of trees, Sea did a lot of damage especially to wooden structures, 29 deaths and 70 – 80 badly bounded. Most of the population was left homeless, most persons lived in the mountains and almost none of these homes remained after the storm. Jost Van Dyke was reported to get the full force of the storm. A reported £25,000 in worth of damage to the islands.
