Hurricane 1930

Hurricane that hit on the 1st September, 1930 leading to landslides and flooding. The storm bought 90mph winds hit the area from the east. Whole year crop lost. 60% of estates uprooted. 1000 houses were destroyed and 850 damaged. All services out of action. All fruit trees were gone. Very high waves caused large damage in coastal area. Plantations went bankrupt
